BlackFlash Magazine is a Canada-based platform for contemporary visual art. They’re seeking pitches for Issue 42.3 ‘Patterns’: “We are inclined to seek out patterns, whether they are there or not. Faced with fragments, we instinctively reach for coherence as a way to retrofit logic onto chaos. Pattern recognition is instinctive, but it’s also ideological. For this issue, we invite critical engagements with ‘patterns’ as a method for creating and parsing visual culture.” Rates are $1,000 for features (2,000 to 2,500 words); $750 for conversations (2,500 to 3,000 words); $600 for artist profiles (1,500 words); and $450 for artist projects (may consist of 500 words and a portfolio of images).
