Current Affairs is a magazine of political commentary and analysis. They’re primarily interested in nonfiction articles on politics and culture. They accept a limited amount of fiction and poetry. They welcome book reviews. They’re also seeking what they call “amusements”—ideas for fake ads, scripts for comics, satirical games, etc. They pay $250 for online pieces (1,000 to 6,000 words), $350 for print articles (2,500 to 5,000 words), and $75 for poems.
