This literary magazine is affiliated with Baylor University; they publish online and in print. They accept unthemed non-fiction, fiction, and poetry, and art, and also works for the Healthcare and Healing folio. “Our first themed folio, “Healthcare and Healing,” will feature your creative explorations of healthcare, illness, and healing in their manifold forms. We want work that opens new windows of understanding into the body and the mind and the ways they can rupture, be repaired, be reconfigured, and be re-understood. We want to facilitate a conversation about what it means to care for ourselves and others with compassion, and the ways in which art can be a beacon of light in the process.” Non-fiction can be flash length (up to 1,000 words) or longer (up to 7,500 words); and, “in addition to personal essays, lyric essays, essays on place, and cultural criticism, we welcome graphic essays and speculative memoir.” They pay $50-200. The deadline is 1 October 2026. Details here and here.
