LOOKOUT News is an LGBTQ+ newsroom covering Arizona and the Southwest. They’re looking to expand their pool of freelance reporters in Colorado for day assignments and longer feature stories. They focus primarily on LGBTQ+ civil rights but are also open to other civil rights stories. They strongly prefer freelancers who are local or can get to where the story is. They pay $350 for day assignments, $250 for stories of around 800 words, and $650 for stories of around 1,200 words. Rates for longer pieces are negotiable.
