accepting pitches for their Fall 2022 issue which is themed Rest. They are
seeking “reported features and essays on subjects including labor and anti-work
politics; debt jubilees and other interruptions of the political status quo;
mutual aid; attempts to accommodate rest within the work of social
reproduction; illness, disability, and the care of the sick; sleep and dreams
as a place of possibility; ecological questions around regeneration and
degrowth; Jewish frameworks for collective rest including shmita and Shabbat;
and more.” They pay at least $400 for reviews and essays, and up to $1 per word

themed issue, which will focus on Soviet Jewish experiences both in the Soviet
Jewish diaspora and in the former Soviet Union.” They are seeking “reported
features, investigative pieces, profiles, conversations, and essays.” They are
also seeking tips, relevant book reviews, criticism, creative nonfiction,
fiction, and poetry. Rates depend on form and vary significantly, for example,
the rate for poetry is $150 per poem and the rate for investigations is $1 per

the coronavirus crisis. They are particularly interested in pitches related to
the following themes: “protest under social distancing; histories, theories,
and strategies of mutual aid; reproductive justice, xenophobia and borders; the
state of exception; incarceration; responsibilities and limitations of the
state; ritual and mourning; the crisis as an opportunity to remake the world.”
They also want “how-to guides for life during quarantine and crisis.” According
