OffBeat Research creates “open-source, online investigations covering the unconventional, plus in-depth reportage and analysis from the front lines.” They’re seeking a freelance remote editor with “experience editing in the subject areas of war/conflict reporting, long-form reportage, and human interest reportage.” They offer payment either hourly or per article. According to their website, they offer two flat rate schedules. Under the Standard Schedule, they pay $200 for articles up to 2,000 words and $300 for articles over 2,000 words. For articles that include original visual elements (e.g., infographics, charts, or visualizations), they offer an additional $25 or $50 per graphic.
