Knock LA is a community journalism
project that is committed to telling the real story of Los Angeles. They’re
looking for journalists in Los Angeles to write for them. They pay $200 for 500
words or less; $250-$400 for 800-1,200 words; and $450-$500 for in-depth
analysis, deeply reported pieces, and features. They’re also always seeking live-
tweeters. They pay $50 per hour of active tweeting and $5 per hour of waiting

story of Los Angeles. They are seeking pitches from journalists in Los Angeles.
Their baseline rate is “$125 to $200 for longform reporting, deep dives, and
investigative essays (>1200 words).” They are also seeking shorter, breaking
news pitches. Their baseline rates are $75 for 500 words or less and $100 for 600
