Variable West is Seeking Exhibition Reviews and Artist Interviews

Variable West is a platform for West Coast art. They are accepting exhibition review and artist interview pitches on the theme of “Staying With the Trouble.” Taken from Donna Haraway’s book “Staying with the Trouble: Making Kin in the Chthulucene,” the phrase encourages us to consider how “[our] task is to make kin in lines of inventive connection as a practice of learning to live and die well with each other in a thick present. Our task is to make trouble, to stir up potent response to devastating events, as well as to settle troubled waters and rebuild quiet places.” They will pay $150 per exhibition review (600 to 800 words). The exhibition must take place in California, Oregon, or Washington. They will pay $150 per artist interview (2,000 words). The artist must be living or working in California, Oregon, or Washington.
