They are looking for “pitches, mayoral burns, photos of cops looking dumb, tips about small claims court, terrible landlord receipts.” They pay $200+ for essays/blog posts (around 700 words), $250+ for photo assignments, $300+ for reported stories, and $400+ for longer features (1,200+ words).
