The Metropole: Selling the City

The Metropole is the official blog of the Urban History Association. They have issued a pitch call for the theme, Selling the City: “We welcome submissions focused on efforts to brand and market cities, build infrastructure supporting urban commerce, and drive urban tourism, as well as posts on financialization and real estate as factors shaping cities. Present-day examples that make appeals to the historical image and legacy of a city are welcome, as are examples from the past of people trying to “sell” a given city or the idea of a city.” The pitch deadline 26th June, and full length drafts of accepted posts will be due 31st July, with publication on the blog in October. The Metropole is Seeking Pitches on Theme of Selling the City

The Metropole is the Urban History Association’s official blog. They’re soliciting pitches for their upcoming theme month, Selling the City:

“We welcome submissions focused on efforts to brand and market cities, build infrastructure supporting urban commerce, and drive urban tourism, as well as posts on financialization and real estate as factors shaping cities. Present-day examples that make appeals to the historical image and legacy of a city are welcome, as are examples from the past of people trying to ‘sell’ a given city or the idea of a city.”

The Metropole: Cities at Play
The Metropole is the official blog of the Urban History Association. They have issued a pitch call for the theme, Cities at Play: “We welcome submissions about any aspect of play, recreation, or leisure in the urban environment. How have cities uniquely shaped the way their inhabitants play, and how has play in turn shaped the built environment, the social dynamics, and the politics of cities?” The pitch deadline 20th March, and full length drafts of accepted posts will be due April 17th, with publication on the blog in May. The Metropole is Accepting Pitches

The Metropole is the Urban History Association’s official blog. They’re accepting pitches for their February and March themes:

“The Metropole is accepting pitches for its February theme on The Celluloid City: cities and film all aspects from depictions of cities to the policies cities enact to attract more filmmaking.” Rate is $200. Deadline to submit pitches is 15 December.

“The Metropole is taking pitches on March theme, The City Aquatic: cities & water, cities across archipelagos, cities & rising sea levels/flooding, cities & drinking water, cities & water related tourism, etc.” Rate is $200. Deadline to submit pitches is 10 February.”
