Autostraddle is Looking for Personal Narratives about Money

Autostraddle is an LGBTQ+ online sphere for women and non-binary people. Their culture editor is seeking personal narratives about money from Black queer/lesbian writers. They’re looking to assign the following pieces:

- “Saving up for surgeries, home, travel

- Mismatched finances w/ partner(s)

- Paying debts while still enjoying life

- Moving into a new income bracket”

The Culture Editor of Autostraddle has recently issued a pitch call on Twitter. “Wanna write about why (and where) there is space for regency era scoops of sapphic & dollops of dyking on Bridgerton for me at @autostraddle?! ... Autostraddle is Seeking a Queer Latinx Writer for the Fifth Anniversary of Pulse

Autostraddle is an online sphere for lesbian, bisexual, and queer women. They are looking for a queer Latinx writer for the fifth anniversary of Pulse. They want an “essay with a strong personal angle or reflections on where we are five years later.” Puerto Rican, Caribeñx, and Afro-Latinx writers are strongly encouraged. They will pay $100 to $250 for 1,000 to 2,000 words. For a longer essay or feature, they will pay up to $300 or $350. Pitches should be emailed to carmen@autostraddle.com. Autostraddle is open for fiction submissions

This call, titled ‘Trans Fiction, Trans Imagination’, is for short stories from writers who identify as trans. This is a six-month series, for six stories. Their guidelines say, “There’s no thematic requirement. The work need not contain queer and trans characters or content (though by all means, it can).” They have also issued a call for trans illustrators (see guidelines). Each story will be accompanied by an illustration.   
Length: Up to 5,000 words
Pay: $150 for fiction, $100 for illustrations

Autostraddle is an online sphere for lesbian, bisexual, and queer women. They are seeking pitches for essays, interviews, reported pieces, criticism, poetry, and visual art from Black queer writers and artists for their Black History Month series.  They want to know, “what’s shaking you to your core? How have you been pouring into your communities? Or, lately what’s been pouring into you?  What are you releasing to lighten your load? What queer ancestral knowledge are you packing in your Go Bag as a blueprint for what’s yet to come? How are you seeing or redesigning the beauty and brilliance of Blackness?” Pay is $200 to $300.
