Feigned Flight Magazine aspires to be the premier publication for oblique and conceptual explorations of medieval history. They accept complete essays of 2,000–4,000 words on the medieval period (roughly 500–1500 AD) that pair history with a concept and a fresh angle; they do not want historical scholarship, straight biography, simple narrative accounts, fantasy, or fiction. According to their submission guidelines, they pay a flat fee of $100 per published essay and purchase perpetual digital rights with 90 days of exclusivity.
