Strange Horizons is a speculative fiction magazine that publishes fiction, poetry, reviews, essays, and interviews. They previously indicated to pay 8 cents a word, but current rates are unclear. Strange Horizons may open in February for general fiction submissions; now reading work for a special Palestine issue

UPDATE: They will not open for general fiction submissions in January, and may open for these in February - see this announcement on their website; they're open now for a special Palestine-themed issue, until 31 January 2021. 

This is a magazine of speculative fiction. They specially welcome work from groups that are under-represented or have been marginalized in the genre. They also accept poetry, reviews, essays, columns, interviews, and round-tables. They are open Monday to Tuesday (see guidelines), and may reopen general fiction submissions in February after a hiatus.
Length: Up to 10,000 words for fiction
Pay: $0.10/word for fiction; varies for others
