  • Prepare For Canada provides critical pre-arrival and post-arrival information that prepares people for settling and finding jobs in Canada. They want people who have landed and settled in Canada to share their experiences and offer tips to those who are just beginning their journey. They previously indicated to be looking for stories about settling in Canada, finance and banking, and working and job finding, and that they paid $25 to $50 per article.   • The Logic provides in-depth reporting on Canada’s innovation economy, and ‘’on how business and technology are changing Canada for better or worse.’’ They are currently on the lookout for stories about the people, companies, and organizations doing fascinating things in Canada, or that affect Canadian interests. Freelance stories, which don’t tend to be breaking news, range from 700 words to 2,500 words. According to their submission guidelines, they pay $1 per word, and for an in-depth feature or investigative work, they pay more.

  • Chinatown Today publishes stories on Vancouver’s Chinatown. Our previous research indicated that they paid $50 for fiction/non-fiction (1,000 to 2,500 words). For poetry, they paid $30 to $50 per piece.   • Inuit Art Quarterly is a magazine dedicated to “Inuit and circumpolar arts, connecting Inuit Nunangat and readers around the world.” They prioritize emerging and established Inuit writers, and accept pitches on topics about Inuit artists and their work year-round.
